VALIDATION OF COTE D’IVOIRE’S NATIONAL GENDER-ENERGY ACTION PLAN

Abidjan October 17, 2024 – The Ministry of Mines, Petroleum and Energy of Côte d’Ivoire, in collaboration with the ECOWAS Centre for Renewable Energy and Energy Efficiency (ECREEE) and the German Cooperation through the GIZ-ProCEM II project, organized the validation workshop of the National Action Plan for Gender Mainstreaming in the Energy Sector of Côte d’Ivoire at the premises of the ECOWAS Resident Office in Côte d’Ivoire on October 17, 2024.

This event, which brought together all stakeholders, marks a crucial step in the quest for a fair, just and inclusive energy transition. The implementation of this Action Plan demonstrates Cote d’Ivoire’s commitment to placing gender equality at the heart of its energy concerns.

As a reminder, ECREEE has supported all ECOWAS Member States in the development and implementation of National Action Plans for Gender Mainstreaming in Energy Access, as part of the operationalization of the ECOWAS Policy on Gender Mainstreaming in Energy Access.
