Praia, April 10, 2025 – Mr. Massourou-Assani DAHOUENON, Programme Manager for the Promotion of a Climate-Friendly Electricity Market in the ECOWAS Region (ProMERC), is undertaking a working mission to the ECOWAS Centre for Renewable Energy and Energy Efficiency (ECREEE), within the framework of ongoing initiatives and prospects for future collaboration.

The opening session of the discussions, held as part of the quarterly coordination visits, took place on April 9, 2025, with the participation of GIZ staff and their ECREEE counterparts, led by Executive Director Mr. Francis SEMPORE.

ECREEE is currently implementing several initiatives with the support of the Deutsche Gesellschaft für Internationale Zusammenarbeit (GIZ), including activities under the ProMERC programme, funded by the German Federal Ministry for Economic Cooperation and Development (BMZ). These include the West African Clean Energy Corridors (WACEC) initiative, Battery Energy Storage Systems (BESS), and the Sustainable Energy Skills Certification programme.
