Mauritius – December 6th, 2017: The ECOWAS Centre for Renewable Energy and Energy Efficiency (ECREEE), once more positions itself as a leading regional agency for sustainable energy promotion in Africa as its Executive Director, Mr. Mahama Kappiah, is distinguished with the Green Future Leadership Award at the 7th Africa Leadership Award.
Since 2011, the Africa Leadership Award is recognizing outstanding individuals, who have been able to provide excellent contributions and demonstrated impeccable leadership qualities towards the development of their nations in particular and Africa as a whole. This platform is a major concept for rewarding and celebrating illustrious Africans who have distinguished themselves in the continent.
The Green Future Leadership Award is about achievers and leaders who can make a difference to the lives of others, as a result of the quality of their work, global reach and outlook and ability to contribute value of social change. Such changes can be quantified since they impact the lives of many in a positive manner.
Some of the criteria taken in consideration to attribute the Green Future Leadership Award include: the ability to resolve existing social, cultural, economic and environmental challenges; the capacity to merge perspectives to spark new ways of thinking; the creation, development, adoption, and integration of new concepts; and underlying magic to social innovation that precludes any simple recipe for success.
The 7th Africa Leadership Award took place in Le Meridien, Mauritius and brought together over 150 Senior Leaders under more than 40 award categories, considered crucial for the development of Africa, namely: Africa CIO, Africa CSR, Africa Outsourcing, Africa Social Innovation and Africa Green Future Leadership Award etc.
