Regional Opportunities for Transitioning to Clean Cooking in West Africa Workshop

Abidjan, November 26, 2024 – Abidjan hosted the Regional Opportunities for Transitioning to Clean Cooking in West Africa workshop, organized by the ECOWAS Centre for Renewable Energy and energy Efficiency (ECREEE) with the support of the European Union and The Enterprise Agency of the Netherlands (RVO) through their partnership “Energizing Development” endev, bringing together key stakeholders from across the region to discuss and advance clean cooking initiatives.

Energy Efficiency for Sustainable Livelihoods in Africa (EELA) validation workshop

Abidjan, November 27, 2024 – The ECOWAS Centre for Renewable Energy and Energy Efficiency (ECREEE), organized the Energy Efficiency for Sustainable Livelihoods in Africa (EELA) validation workshop in Abidjan. The workshop aimed to validate the Market Study and Intervention Strategy for promoting energy efficiency across ECOWAS member states.

Sustainable Off-grid Solutions for Pharmacies and Hospitals in Africa (SoPhiA) Workshop: Promoting Innovation and Energy Efficiency

Abidjan, November 27, 2024 – This event brought together key stakeholders from across Africa and the world, including energy engineers, policymakers, international donors, refrigeration specialists, and representatives from the private sector to discuss sustainable cooling solutions for healthcare facilities and the broader energy sector in West Africa.

Validation of the Manual for Gender Assessment in Renewable Energy Projects

Abidjan, November 28, 2024 – As part of the WACEC program (West African Clean Energy Corridor), ECREEE, with the support of GIZ, organized a workshop to validate the Manual for Gender Assessment in Renewable Energy Projects, with the participation of Gender and Energy Focal Points from ECOWAS Member States. This workshop was one of the side events of the 9^th edition of the ECOWAS Sustainable Energy Forum (ESEF 2024).

ECREEE Hosts Fundraising Luncheon on Green Finance

Abidjan, 28 November 2024 – ECREEE hosted its flagship annual event, the ECOWAS Sustainable Energy Forum (ESEF), in Abidjan, Côte d’Ivoire, from November 28–29, 2024. This year’s forum included a major highlight: the inaugural Fundraising Luncheon on Green Finance. The exclusive event convened leading financial executives, government representatives, energy specialists, and other key stakeholders to tackle a critical challenge in West Africa: mobilizing green finance to accelerate the transition to sustainable energy.
