ECREEE is pleased to announce the Inaugural ECREEE Fundraising Luncheon on Green Finance, scheduled for November 28, 2024, from 12:00 to 16:00 at the Onomo Hotel Abidjan Airport, Abidjan, Côte d’Ivoire, during this year’s ECOWAS Sustainable Energy Forum (ESEF 2024).
This exclusive and high-level event will bring together leading finance executives, government officials, energy specialists, and key stakeholders from across the region to address one of the most pressing challenges in West Africa: mobilizing green finance to accelerate the transition to sustainable energy. With the region at a critical juncture, the luncheon aims to forge new partnerships and drive forward investment in green energy projects that can transform the future of energy in West Africa.
The side-event will spotlight the ECOWAS Renewable Energy and Energy Efficiency Facility (EREEEF) – a groundbreaking new financing mechanism developed by ECREEE in collaboration with its partners. EREEEF is designed to facilitate access to non-repayable grants through competitive, demand-driven calls for proposals. The Facility’s primary goal is to increase access to sustainable energy across ECOWAS countries by harnessing the power of cutting-edge technologies, tailored solutions, and best practices.
With support from the ECOWAS Bank for Investment and Development (EBID) and technical assistance from the Global Green Growth Institute (GGGI), EREEEF is set to accelerate the implementation of ECOWAS’s ambitious energy policies. This event provides an exciting opportunity for stakeholders to engage directly with EREEEF’s vision and learn about upcoming funding opportunities designed to foster socio-economic growth and energy access.
