PRE-ESEF Workshop Clean Cooking

In the lead-up to the 9th Edition of the ECOWAS Sustainable Energy Forum (ESEF2024), the ECOWAS Centre for Renewable Energy and Energy Efficiency (ECREEE), will be hosting a workshop titled “Regional Opportunities for Transitioning to Clean Cooking in West Africa.” This workshop, co-financed by the European Union and The Netherlands, seeks to strengthen regional coordination and action on clean cooking solutions in the ECOWAS region.

The workshop builds on outcomes from the preparatory clean cooking workshop held during ESEF2023, where stakeholders identified priority actions for scaling up national and regional initiatives. As the Regional Action for Clean Cooking in West Africa (ReCCAWA) prepares for implementation, this one-day meeting will convene representatives from ECOWAS Member States, and key development agencies to revisit priorities, discuss sector developments, and design actionable strategies.

Participants will address key objectives, including updates on national clean cooking initiatives, finalizing design elements of ReCCAWA, and exploring the creation of a regional Clean Cooking Community of Practice. The outcomes of this workshop will contribute to shaping discussions during ESEF2024
