The second International Conference on Circular Economy, Renewable Energy and Green Hydrogen (ICERA 2024), jointly organized by the German Federal Ministry of Education and Research (BMBF), the University of Rostock (Germany), the University of Lomé (Togo) in partnership with WASCAL (West African Science Service Centre on Climate Change and Adapted Land Use) and SASSCAL (Southern African Science Service Centre for Climate Change and Adaptive Land Management) took place from October 8th to 10th, 2024 at the University of Lomé, Togo.
As Official Guest, Mr. Francis SEMPORE, Executive Director of ECREEE, shared his Agency’s experience in the fields of Circular Economy (Implementation of pilot projects in West Africa), Green Hydrogen (Operationalization of the ECOWAS Green Hydrogen Policy and Strategy Framework) and Renewable Energies (Implementation of the Regional Renewable Energy Program of ECREEE’s Strategic Plan 2023-2027).
ECREEE’s participation in ICERA 2024 is part of its overall collaboration with WASCAL through the Green Hydrogen Program in West Africa and contributes to the operationalization of the WASCAL Togo Bioenergy Laboratory’s recognition process at regional level.
ICERA aims to encourage discussion on the development of sound strategies for Africa’s green transition through a multi-stakeholder platform bringing together decision-makers, industrialists, the scientific community, NGOs, small and medium-sized enterprises and financing organizations.
