Cotonou, January 27, 2025 – The 2025 annual planning workshop for the activities of the GiZ-ProMERC Program “ Promoting a Climate-Friendly Electricity Market in the ECOWAS Region ” is taking place on January 27 and 28, 2025 in Cotonou and in videoconference mode.
The workshop was opened in the presence of Mr. Assani Dahouenon, GiZ/ProMERC Program Manager, Mr. Laurent Tossou, President of ARREC, Mr. Bayaornibe Dabiré, Director of Energy and Mines of the ECOWAS Commission, Mr. Mamadou Sylla representing the Secretary General of WAPP, and Mr. Francis SEMPORE, Executive Director of ECREEE, in videoconference. The aim of the workshop was to take stock of activities in 2024 and draw up a detailed action plan for 2025, based on synergy between the specialized agencies in charge of energy.
As a reminder, the ECOWAS specialized energy agencies ECREEE, ARREC and WAPP are supported by the German Federal Ministry for Economic Cooperation and Development (BMZ) through the GiZ- ProMERC Program.
