The GiZ/ProCEM Program Coordinator pays a working visit to ECREEE

Praia, August 28, 2024 – Mr. Assani DAHOUENON, Program Coordinator of GIZ-ProCEM “Promotion of a Climate-Friendly Electricity Market in the ECOWAS Region”, paid a working visit to the ECOWAS Centre for Renewable Energy and Energy Efficiency (ECREEE) to strengthen existing collaboration.

The opening meeting of this mission took place on August 28, 2024, with the participation of Mr. Francis SEMPORE, Executive Director of ECREEE, along with ECREEE staff and the project team. The meeting included presentations on the initiatives carried out in collaboration with German cooperation in the field of sustainable energy within ECOWAS. This mission is part of the quarterly high-level meetings focused on program monitoring and coordination of activities involving GiZ-ProCEM staff based at ECREEE.

It will be recalled that the specialized ECOWAS agencies namely ECREEE, ERERA, and WAPP, receive support from the German Federal Ministry for Economic Cooperation and Development (BMZ) through the GIZ ProCEM program.

The mission will continue throughout the week, focusing on working sessions to review the status of program activities implementation, planning of activities envisaged until the end of 2025, and preparation of new initiatives.
