On February 29, 2024, the Validation Workshop for the Final Draft National Bioenergy Action Plan of The Gambia was held in Banjul, chaired by the Permanent Secretary of the Ministry of Petroleum and Energy of The Gambia (MoPE). ECREEE, represented by the Executive Director of the ECOWAS Regional Competitive Authority (ERCA), was also in attendance.
This validation workshop marks a significant step in ECREEE’s support to ECOWAS Member States for operationalizing the Bioenergy Regional Policy through the development of National Bioenergy Action Plans.
Thus far, several countries, including Benin, Cote d’Ivoire, Ghana, Guinea, Liberia, Mali, Senegal, Sierra Leone, and Togo, have successfully developed and validated their national bioenergy action plans with the assistance of ECREEE.
